The Sport and Recreation Alliance's annual general meeting (AGM) was held yesterday at St. James’s Palace, hosted by the Alliance’s President HRH Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex.

Over 200 heads and representatives from member organisations and partners of the Sport and Recreation Alliance attended this year's event, which featured the annual round-up from Alliance chair Andy Reed OBE, a summary of the Alliance’s finances by treasurer Mike Power OBE and HRH The Earl of Wessex chairing the meeting as a whole.
For the first time, this year’s AGM featured the Sport and Recreation Alliance's Community Sport and Recreation awards ceremony, formerly the Sports Club of the Year Awards.
Footballing legend Sir Bobby Charlton was also presented with the coveted Arthur Bell Trophy for his services to community sport.
One of the Alliance's honorary members, Brian Lee JP, was awarded the coveted Emeritus Award for a life-time's commitment to sport and recreation in the UK.
Everton FC also landed the Professional Club Community Programme of the Year Award which recognises professional clubs that give something back to their local community.
