Martin is a familiar name in the physical activity sector having spent several years across a number of organisations. He has most recently been in post at England Netball, having previously worked with British Basketball and Volleyball England.
With 19 years’ experience in sports organisations, the Edge Hill University graduate will bring expertise including data protection, business support and equality work to the Alliance.
Looking ahead to his new position, Martin said: “I am excited to be joining the Sport and Recreation Alliance as Director of Policy, Governance and Finance. I have a passion for sport and for leading business services in sport.
“I am looking forward to developing robust and sustainable structures to support the Alliance’s long-term ambitions, leading their proactive and reactive policy work and providing governance support to members of the Alliance to ensure that the sector is fit for the future.”
This Black History Month, the Sport and Recreation Alliance sought to celebrate the significant contributions Black individuals have made and continue to make to grassroots sport and recreation by engaging with leaders throughout the sports sector.
