The National Insurance Contributions Bill is making its way through parliament and could save sports clubs and charities thousands of pounds.
The Bill, which has just had its Second Reading in the House of Lords, contains legislation which, if successfully passed, from April 2014 will provide sports clubs and charities with a £2,000 tax cut on their National Insurance Contributions bill.
The proposals were announced in the 2013 Budget and were initially only proposed to be available for Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) and charities.
However, the Alliance has since had confirmation from HMRC that the tax break will be open to all sports clubs which employ staff and could therefore provide many more clubs with much needed tax relief.
This Black History Month, the Sport and Recreation Alliance sought to celebrate the significant contributions Black individuals have made and continue to make to grassroots sport and recreation by engaging with leaders throughout the sports sector.
