We all know that sport and recreation plays such an important role in both physical and mental well-being, the economy and the development of our society. Everything we do as a sector is about improving and developing sport and physical activity because we know it can really enhance people’s lives.
The Alliance is proud to be the independent voice of the sector and we can only do this by working closely with you and by continually striving to improve and provide you with the information and resources you need. Each year we plan our activities and priorities so we can make sure as an organisation we continue performing and delivering what you need and this year isn’t any different.
Keeping the sector fit for the future will continue to be our focus for the coming year. We will do this by providing leadership to the sector, stimulating debate and discussion, and influencing policy and decision makers; championing the great things you do, and taking action on issues that are relevant to you; and helping you be more effective by providing you opportunities for education and learning, spreading best practice and making sure you have the tools you need.
We will start sharing with you some of our planned activities and also how we are performing against some of our objectives with a digital dashboard. This information will be available this summer in your new member's area.
This Black History Month, the Sport and Recreation Alliance sought to celebrate the significant contributions Black individuals have made and continue to make to grassroots sport and recreation by engaging with leaders throughout the sports sector.
