Printed copies of the Let’s Get Moving toolkit are available for free from the Department of Health until 31 October.

Let’s Get Moving was developed by the Department of Health in 2007 as an evidence-based, motivational interviewing approach to support healthcare professionals in helping people to become more physically active.

It is based on NICE guidance which endorses the delivery of brief interventions for physical activity in primary care as being both clinically effective and cost-effective in the long term.

The framework provides a patient-centred approach to:

  • identify and assess physical inactivity in adults
  • help them to become more active by illustrating the benefits of physical activity in a patient-centred way.

A 2009 evaluation demonstrated a 62% self-reported increase in physical activity by patients using the framework.

The Let’s Get Moving toolkit can be ordered be orderd free of charge from the Department of Health website. Search for product code 298594 or Let’s Get Moving or link on the right.

There are no limits to the number of packs you can order.
