Tennis governing bodies have come together to agree to the initiation of an independent review into their anti-corruption operations.

Led by Adam Lewis QC, the Independent Review Panel which will look at the processes, procedures and resources of the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU).

The review, signed-off by the chairs and executives of the International Tennis Federation (WTA), Association of Tennis Professional (ATP), Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), as well as the Grand Slam Board, will report on the “appropriateness and effectiveness” of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program. It will also make recommendations for change where necessary.

It will investigate how the TIU can become more transparent without compromising confidentiality, the need for additional TIU resources, the possibility of structural or governance changes to “enhance the independence” of the TIU and ways to extend the scope of the Tennis Integrity Education Program.
