The Sport and Recreation Alliance is convening a meeting of interested national governing bodies to discover the practical steps those organisations should take in preparation of the Scottish independence referendum.
The Scottish independence referendum will be held on 18 September and currently there is a considerable degree of uncertainty about the result of an independence vote – including around what would happen to existing GB or UK wide structures and funding and what future Scottish national representation would look like.
It’s hoped that the meeting will allow Alliance members to be empowered to undertake initial scenario planning to assess what would happen under an independent Scotland and what practical steps they would take for the future of their organisation.
In preparation of the meeting the Alliance would like to hear what preparation governing bodies have currently already undertaken.
