For Le Grand Départ 150 volunteers are required across Yorkshire to talk to spectators about dementia, promote dementia friends and to interview fans of all ages about their memories of Le Tour and of sport.
The first two stages of Le Grand Départ, Le Tour de France take place on 5 and 6 July and the dementia friendly volunteers will be called the Memory Makers.
Sporting Memories Network is working in partnership with spectator hubs and fan parks across Yorkshire to ensure people living with dementia can engage and enjoy this once in a lifetime sporting event.
This will be achieved through a series of actions that will:
