Beyond the glitz and glamour of the sporting excellence on show was an army of volunteers who were determined to make the Games the best yet.

As the nation celebrates a decade since the event, we got in touch with four remarkable volunteers who share their experiences and what they’ve been up to since.

Starting at the London 2012 Paralympics, before going to the Tour de France in 2014 and then the Rugby World Cup in 2015 – Nicola’s volunteering story is a remarkable one.

Sebastian worked as a reporter at the #London2012 Paralympics, and had quotes from his interviews published in national publications.

The skills he picked up while volunteering started him on a journey which has led to Lima, where he is now an English teacher.
